The computer has become sluggish, the Wi-Fi drops out in the back room, fifteen years of photos are somewhere and nowhere. Then someone comes by, looks at it, fixes it and explains in plain words what they did. No prior knowledge needed, no lectures about technology.

Who it is for
For everyone who does not fancy working it out themselves
- You do not need to understand technology. I explain what I am doing while I do it. What you should be able to do yourself afterwards, I show you, instead of keeping it to myself.
- It does not have to be broken. “It sort of works, but it is annoying” is a good reason for an appointment. So is the question of whether a new device is worth it at all.
- Nobody will look at you sideways. 600 photos on the desktop, three years without updates, passwords on a note under the keyboard: I have seen all of it, and often.
- I come to you. Most things can only be solved where they are: at the router in the hallway, at the printer in the cupboard.
And if it turns out an appointment is not worth it for you, I say so on the phone. Then it costs nothing.
What I do
Four things, usually in this order
Nearly every call lands in one of these four areas. They often hang together: whoever buys a new device wants to take the data along, and once the data is sorted, the backup should finally run as well.
01Data
Your photos, documents and records: backed up, ordered and somewhere you can point at. A backup is set up and restored together once, because only then do we know it really works.
Typical: Moving data from the old device to the new one. Pulling everything out of Google Drive, iCloud or OneDrive onto a drive at home. Merging photos that sit on three devices. Putting passwords into a password manager you operate yourself afterwards.
02Network
Wi-Fi that works in the whole flat, not just next to the router. Plus everything hanging off it: printers, TVs, speakers, cameras.
Typical: Dead spots in an old building. A new internet connection set up. A printer that is only sometimes found. A guest network that cannot see your own devices. The children's devices with their own rules.
03Repair
Desktops and laptops that will not start, overheat, crawl, or have played up since the last update. I look at the device and give you the price before I repair it.
Typical: The device gets loud and slow. The battery holds nothing. Hard drive swapped for an SSD. Memory upgraded. Windows or macOS reinstalled, with your data in place.
04Buying advice
What you need, not what sits at the top of the brochure. I do not sell devices and earn nothing on a purchase. That is why “the old one will do for another two years” is an answer I can give.
Typical: A new laptop, but which one. Whether a repair is still worth it. Which router, which drive, which tablet for the grandparents. Setting up the new device while I am there.

All amounts include VAT. That is the amount on the invoice, not the one that still has something added to it.

Within Vienna, travel is included. If there is more to do during the appointment than we discussed, I tell you before the time runs out and you decide whether it gets done.

Frequent questions
What people want to know beforehand
How quickly does this happen?
Usually within a few days. I have no round-the-clock standby and promise no response time. In return I call back, instead of sending a ticket number.
How do I pay?
By invoice after the appointment, bank transfer within 14 days. No prepayment, no subscription, no automatic renewal of anything.
Can I get to my data if you are unavailable?
Yes. Everything I set up runs without me: the devices are at your place, the accounts belong to you, and at the end one page says what sits where and how to get to it.
What do you not do?
Data recovery from physically damaged drives, building gaming machines, and remote access that stays open permanently. If someone else is a better fit, I tell you.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. For contracts concluded away from my business premises, meaning at your home, by phone or by email, you can withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason. If you expressly ask me to start before that period ends, you pay for the part already delivered should you withdraw later. If the work has been completed in full at your request, the right of withdrawal lapses.
Do you also come outside Vienna?
Yes, to the surrounding area. Beyond the city limits, €30 per hour of travel time is added. I tell you the amount on the phone before an appointment is made.
